Men uansett. Eg hadde tenkt å dela ei oppskrift på pikekyss, det er jo så enkelt og godt. Så om du finn deg sjølv med ekstra eggekviter i sommar, ikkje fortvil! Det er jo typ det enklaste i verda. Du tek eggekviter, og 1,5 gongar så mykje sukker (må bruke vekt, altså!). Pisk eggekvitene til dei er stive, og tilsett sukkeret litt av gangen til blandingen er glatt og stiv. Sprøyt ut på bakeplater, og steik i omnen på 100 grader, i ca 3,5 timar.
I had written this post before we went to Gothenburg and I was planning on publishing it while we were there, but I didn’t have any energy for it at all while we were in Sweden. On our first night in Gothenburg, someone broke into our car and stole a suitcase containing all of my clothes, all of Saga’s clothes, my Hasselblad 500 and a lot of other things. So meaningless and traumatic, I still feel so icky about it. It’s just things, but my things are important to me. The dress I wore when my water broke, Saga’s first pair of shoes, the camera that I’ve been through so much with. Right now I’m in the backseat of the car, Frøy and Jostein are in the front seat discussing opera (Frøy is a soprano, Jostein is a librettist), Saga is sleeping in her seat next to me in her new pyjamas. We bought a lot of new clothes for her, and not so many things for me. I’ve wore the same pair of tights for five days. It’s not great being the kind of person who needs things a certain way and then that way isn’t available. I long for my clothes, we’ll be home by midnight. In the upcoming week I’m going to relax in the garden, I’ve seen my tomatoes on facetime, my sister has been staying at our house. I’ve bought some food home from Sweden, it makes my husband roll his eyes but that’s who I am. Buying random food things on holiday, I love that we have a car I can fill with my weird habits.
But anyway. I wanted to share this recipe for meringues, it’s so simple and good. So if you have any leftover egg whites, don’t despair! They’re called girl’s kisses in Norwegian. It’s so simple! You take the weight of your eggwhites times 1,5. Whip the egg whites until they’re stiff, then add sugar little by little until it’s shiny and stiff. Pipe onto a baking sheet, cook for 3,5 hours on 100 celsius.
