a friday in hampstead.
friday afternoon, after doing my books all day and feeling so shot down, we decided it was time for a reboot. we took the train to hampstead(where i had never been!). it’s so lovely there, green and charming.
we saw a lot of great things, like a very strange dog, a tiny antiques market and narrow pathways through buildings.
we walked up and up, on our way to visit a very old and eccentric house.
from the balcony you could see all the way to canary wharf through the fog!
the gardens were the best part, apple trees with heavy branches, and you could pick fruits from the ground and buy them for 30p.
we walked around for a bit, smelling apples and sharing garden fantasies.
i was mostly lurched with my analogue camera, can’t wait to develop the film.
we bought some fruit with us and started walking down again, with a snack break in sight!
i got the biggest ice cream sandwich that i couldn’t even finish, and we found a bench with cell reception(weirdest thing: it seems to be a known thing that people with three can’t get reception in all of hampstead) and we got in touch with veera who lives in the area.
we walked through the heath and home to veera’s where we had the finish specialty: coffee in marimekko mugs and turkish pepper(hot drops). then we went home, ate pasta and tried not to fall asleep at the table.
